+ The first floor, with a total available space of 2.18 lakh sq ft, will have facilities for security checks as well as aerobridges. Food courts, executive launch, and a bar will be housed at the first level.

The domestic terminal has been developed taking the growth in passenger traffic over the next 20 years into consideration. The work on an expanded and upgraded domestic terminal began as soon as the new international terminal (T3) was commissioned in April this year, the release added. The new terminal will have six times more space than the facility now handling domestic traffic.

In 2016, Cial recorded 780 arrivals and 785 departures of chartered flights from their airport facility. In the previous year, Cial recorded 822 arrivals and 814 departures.

Cochin International airport (CIAL) is chalking up plans to convert the current domestic terminal (T2) into a terminal exclusively reserved for business jets. Introducing new terminal will send a healthy message to investors planning to invest in the city.
